No manual = no buy.

If they patch it then maybe. But as of now there is no option to shift your own and apparently the loss of speed in the slightest way is ludicrously high.

The game world is still pretty sparse, and AllDrive’s problems are still evident (i.e. very little multiplayer interaction). Well, we’ll see what happens between now and release day for the PC version.
